Here at Puppies by Z we hand select only the most responsible breeders. We do not condone "puppy mills". We do not work with breeders that do not meet our high standards.

Each puppy is guaranteed to have the finest pedigree and our team is always available to new owners for the support they need after the sale to ensure their  puppies are always happy and healthy.

In 2011, Zahina Porto legally migrated to the United States from Cuba at the age of 25 to join her mother and father in Miami Florida and to realize her dream of bringing the joy, love, and loyal friendship offered by puppies to caring owners. 

Today, Zahina and her team operate successful "puppy shop and spa" businesses in Miami Florida  providing pure breed, registered puppies with pedigrees from only the most reputable breeders. 

In early 2022, Zahina established the unofficial "Z's Angels and Guardians" program which gives away a free puppy (out of pocket) each month to a family of a special needs child. The response has been overwhelming. Puppies by Z  receives requests through this program on a regularly from special needs kids, parents, schools, doctors, and friends of those with special needs. Puppies by Z continues to provide a free puppy regularly as a labor of love.

1. Reputation: Look for a shop with a good reputation and ask for references or recommendations from other pet owners, veterinarians, or local animal shelters.
2. Health of the puppies: Make sure that the puppies are in good health and that the shop follows good hygiene practices.
3. Breeding practices: Ask about the breeding practices of the shop and ensure that they follow responsible breeding practices, such as not breeding dogs too frequently and not breeding dogs that are too closely related.
4. Socialization and care of the puppies: Look for a shop that provides socialization and proper care for the puppies, including proper nutrition and medical care.
5. Support for the buyers: Choose a shop that offers support to the buyers of their puppies throughout the life of the dog.

It is also a good idea to visit the shop in person and ask to see where the puppies are kept and raised. This can give you a good idea of the conditions and care that the puppies are receiving.

• Being knowledgeable about the breed they are breeding and ensuring that they are only breeding dogs with good temperaments and physical health
• Ensuring that the dogs they breed are housed in clean and safe environments and receive proper medical care and nutrition
• Not breeding dogs too frequently, and making sure that they do not breed dogs that are too closely related
• Socializing the puppies and providing them with a good foundation for training
• Being honest about the breed's characteristics and any potential health problems
• Providing support to the buyers of their puppies throughout the life of the dog

It is important to do research and ask questions when looking for a breeder to ensure that you are getting a healthy, well-bred dog from a responsible source.
